Mrs. Burrow's Fifth Grade Class is
"Classroom
of the Week"
![]() |
We’re having a great time in Mrs. Burrows’ class
this year! This week was our Curriculum Fair. We thought about social situations
that
kids at Cantiague face all the time, and created board games that allowed
for discussions about how the problems could be solved. We invited the parents
into school on Thursday night to play our games!
We’ve also been working on learning the locations, abbreviations, and
capitals of the 50 United States. We need this information because our class
has entered
the "Great Mail Race!" We sent letters and surveys out to one elementary school
in each of the 50 states and hope to receive a response and a post card from
each one! We’ll be tracking the mail we receive on a big US map outside
Room 26!
Finally, we’ve starting learning algebra! Yes, we know, it’s usually
learned in the later grades, but we’re getting started now! The tile puzzles
you see in the pictures help us practice algebra!
Please check out our other pictures from this year!
