Mrs. Iordanou's Foreign Language is
"Classroom of the Week"
FLES, (Foreign Language Elementary School), is celebrating languages and
cultures from all over the world!
We played games from around the world and had a 4th and 5th Grade Poster
Contest for World Language week. We learned that there are many reasons for
learning new languages, such as travel, business, world peace, improving
our skills in Math, English and Social Studies, and for FUN!!!
French and Italian classes celebrated Mardi Gras and Carnivale. Spanish classes
are learning colors and creating their own designs in the style of Spanish-speaking
cultures.
Kindergarten is continuing to learn new languages, and we know how to say “hello” in
32 of them.
The 1st Grade Latin Class is learning about the planets and why they are named
after Roman gods.
Cantiague Special Area teachers helped fourth-graders do a Landmarks project.
Students researched their landmark and culture in the library and on the internet,
learned how to say “Peace” in the language at FLES, word-processed
in the computer room, and created wonderful collages in Art.
In Cantiague, we are proud to be CANTIAGUE WORLD CITIZENS!
