Mrs. Mongiovi's Third Grade Class is
"Classroom of the Week"

Welcome to Room 17
February has been a very
busy month for class 3C. We have been studying the United States
Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. We learned how to take notes based on information
we read
and then used the notes to create a PowerPoint
presentation about Puerto Rico. As you can see in some of the photos, we
are creating maps based on geography, economics, weather, or interesting
places. Each group was assigned a different topic.
During February, we also finished up our Literature Circle books. We love
to read, discuss and complete assignments based on our chosen books with
our group. In these photos, we are working on our story steps and book reports.
Be sure to look for these reports hanging outside our classroom.
Valentine’s Day was a very special day for us. We loved to hear the
story "Stand Tall Molly Lou Melon" read aloud to us during an assembly. We
also taped
our piece of hair to our grades Molly Lou Melon, who is located outside our
classroom. On our piece of hair, we expressed how we are going to “Stand
Tall” this year. We also completed a Valentine’s Day math packet.
We used a box of candy hearts to complete many types of math problems based
on the concepts of fractions, probability, multiplication and graphing. It
was a lot of fun!
As you can see, our class has been very busy working and having fun in 3rd
grade!!
