Hurricane Preparedness??




Hurricanes are a frequent phenomenon. In August of 2005, Hurricane Katrina struck the Gulf Coast of the United States.


The Task:

As a student living on Long Island, you have been chosen to create a publisher brochure. Your brochure will be divided into 6 sections. Each section must be named and must include a graphic.

The below information must be included in your brochure.

1. What are hurricanes and how do they gather energy.
2. List the 5 hurricane categories and their corresponding wind speeds?
3. List 3 things you should do if a hurricane is heading your way?
4. Describe 2 past hurricanes on Long Island. Make sure to
include name, location and category.
5. Your choice using information from your research worksheet.
