You will be creating a powerpoint presentation to learn about weather. . Each student will gather information in both the computer and science lab. You will be creating a 6 slide Powerpoint presentation which will explain:

Your information will be recorded on a data collection sheet which will be given to you at the start of the project and used in both computer and science labs.

The Task For Fourth Graders Is:

You will be assigned a weather topic from the below listed severe weather conditions. You will gather information in the computer lab using the below websites. You will be creating a 6 slide Powerpoint Presentation. You will include a description, the causes, the effects, and how to prepare for the severe weather conditions listed below:

Your information will be recorded on a data collection sheet which will be given to you at the start of the project and used in both computer and science labs.

The Process:

1. You will be researching and taking notes on weather topics to become informed meteorologists.

2. You will be assigned one severe weather condition to create a 7 slide Powerpoint weather presentation. You will be using weather data that you have gathered using pre-selected websites and video clips.

3. Second graders will learn about the 3 parts of the water cycle, the 3 cloud types, 3 types of precipation, wind speed and wind direction.

4. Fourth graders will learn about the normal weather patterns of our area, and also severe storms that occur in the United States including hurricanes, tornadoes, blizzards, floods, and thunderstorms. Students will also learn how to be prepared for extreme weather.
