Requirements

Exams/Quizzes: Exams will be given at the end of each quarter, quizzes will be given at the end of each unit and randomly throughout the year. NOTE: Make-up exams or quizzes will be given at the discretion of the teacher.

Group Reports: Each student will be assigned to a group. Groups will research a current discussion topic and present a report to the class. Grades will reflect creativity in presentation, preparedness, poise, clarity and delivery of presentation, use of library time and knowledge of topic.

Art Project: Will be assigned throughout the year on health related issues that we are discussing in class. Grades will reflect quality, originality and creativity and effort.

Cooperative Participation: Your attendance, preparedness, and participation in class discussion will maximize your learning and affect your grade.

Homework

Reaction Paper: Will be assigned on specific problems posed in class based on class discussion, class films, or readings. Your reaction paper must be at least two paragraphs long, and should include:

Current Event: A factual health related article from the current weeks newspaper, Time or Newsweek. You will give a short oral summary of the article to the class. You may not read directly from the article or anything you have written. Check out HealthNET Library Daily Health News.

Notebook Check: Notebooks will be checked and graded on a random basis so make sure you bring them to class and keep them in order and neat at all times.
