Welcome to the     JerEcho page!

The JerEcho is the student newspaper of Jericho High School which reports news to the student body and informs its readers of the local, national and worldwide issues that impact them directly. The JerEcho aims to publish multiple issues each year that include news, editorials, features, commentaries, reviews, entertainment, sports and more.

As members of the JerEcho, with Jericho High School and the surrounding community as their “beat,” students are given the opportunity to gain hands-on experience as journalists, photojournalists, editors, and layout design specialists.

Throughout the year, members of theJerEcho are expected to meet before and after school to pitch stories for future issues, write articles, design the layout of the pages and edit articles. On the day we publish, club members are expected to report to the English department before 3rd period begins to distribute the paper throughout the school.  Students who contribute to the JerEcho are considered staff members of the newspaper and are held to the fundamental tenets of journalism which include objectivity, truth, responsibility, and attribution. New members are always welcome.  The JerEcho staff is proud to collaborate with high school art teachers in order to feature colorful student artwork in its centerfold.

JerEcho Meetings are Thursday mornings during B weeks at 8:20 in room 267.
