Integrated and Interdisciplinary Learning
The middle school teaming model and New York State Learning Standards provide excellent opportunities for mutually reinforcing interdisciplinary teaching. We will share some of the projects and curricula we have helped develop and have used with students on our teams. Librarians and classroom teachers will explain how they have collaborated in teaching research, writing and internet literacy skills and provide suggestions on how teachers can plan backwards from their respective standards in order to develop engaging projects and field trips.
