Dear Parents:

Each week a different student will be randomly selected to be our "Shining Star". This is a fun way for the class to get to know each other. It is also a nice way to create a sense of community in our classroom.

When your child is chosen to be the Shining Star, he or she is given the "star treatment" all week! The Shining Star is given our class backpack (filled with fun activities and our class mascot) to take home and enjoy all week. The backpack must be returned at the end of the week.

The class works together to create a star poster of the child to celebrate all of the qualities that really make them shine. Then we hang their poster up for the entire year.

As our Shining Star, your child will also get to spend a week with our class mascot, Wish Bear!

Wish Bear can't wait to meet all of my students and spend time with them.
